Please note: This advice is not intended to replace guidance from a trained professional
Had my counseling appointment today. Because I’m showing signs of PTSD from my experiences recently my counselor is recommending a treatment he uses called Dorsal Vagus Nerve Threat Response Remediation Technique.
He mentioned teaching me it before as something I could share with others as there are only two other trained practitioners in the US offering it.
The story is (and keep in mind I’m not a reporter and I have no spoons to do a deep dive into researching this, take it with a grain of salt) that for 20-some years back in the 70’s/80’s the VA did research into treating PTSD and actually found a technique that works almost 100% of the time, but then buried the research for fear of losing funding.
He says through his professional connections he met someone who was involved in the project and offered to train him, and in years since using it he’s seen similar results alleviating the symptoms of C-PTSD and PTSD. It’s supposedly simple, can be learned over video, and involves no additional tools or costs to work.
If it helps me I already told him I’d like to share it for free, and he’s given me the green light to share it with whoever I want.
Since it’s hugely important to me that 99% of what I do here is accessible to everyone, I feel comfortable saying I will most likely offer a series of videos on my channel in the next three months demonstrating the technique.
If anyone wants to do additional research or has any questions I can ask my counselor about it feel free to ask. So far I’ve evaluated it as a low risk high yield endeavor to help others, and it excites me that I could offer something during a time when getting help is so inaccessible for so many.
